@ January 23 (11am – 2 pm) : Learn the fundamentals of residential deck construction through hands-on practice with the tools and techniques used to build a strong, level structure. This beginner-friendly class introduces the core components of a deck and gives participants practical experience with basic framing and flooring construction. January 24 (11am – 2 pm) : Participants will practice measuring and cutting lumber, laying out and squaring a frame, installing joists and joist hangers, and safely using common framing tools. You’ll also learn key construction concepts and terminology, including beams, joists, rim joists, and decking. By the end of the class, you’ll have a stronger understanding of how decks and similar framed floor structures come together and the foundational skills to approach future projects with confidence.
