Slay Hazel is a weekly, queer and femme-led comedy show and open mic hosted by Eugene comedian Hazel Jae. Inspired by Kill Tony, the night blends stand-up with interactive games and light audience participation, flipping the usual comedy power dynamics. The show centers queer, femme, and gender-nonconforming performers while welcoming anyone willing to engage respectfully. Some weeks feature booked guests, while others embrace a looser, more chaotic open mic format. Consent is mandatory, tipping is encouraged, and bombing is treated as part of the process. The result is a sharp, playful, community-driven comedy night that feels more like a ritual than a showcase.
